Books About Airplanes

Happy National Aviation Day!

Several months ago I got on a plane for the first time in years. I was amazed by the new features: wifi, personal in-flight movies, USB chargers for every seat, and a system that tells you at any given moment how fast you’re rocketing towards your destination in an airborne metal tube…

Okay, so I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with flying. I’d rather fly than drive long distances, definitely, but between airport security, having to wait for the “fasten seat belt” light to go off to use the bathroom, being stuck in the sky going 500+mph… yeah I don’t love flying.

Daunting as flying may be for some of us, you can’t deny that the development of aviation was an incredible step forward in technology! And there is a certain fascination about planes and how they work that seems to capture kids of every generation. Luckily I have a whole bunch of books in the eStore to feed that curiosity, from paper airplane books, to books that show how airplanes work, and activities to do while on an airplane!
